Axile Consulting Programmme

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

Programme focus

For entrepreneurs that follow the Axile Coaching Programme, our focus is to assist you in developing a high value and effective business, by leveraging technology and timely communications to multiple stakeholders.

As ‘active’ entrepreneurs and investors, we would assist you in harnessing your intellectual property, and helping you shape it into a whole product suite, and ultimately into a powerful mechanism affecting industry.  By doing so, your venture has the potential to become embedded into a valuable part of an industry-wide ecosystem.

Our programme highlights an actual Malaysian case model incorporating agriculture, bio, IT and green technologies.  The case model of Inno Integrasi is provided for by Wings Strategic Management.

Full Program Course (for 15 companies)

First One Day Seminar (Month 1)

Market Development

In this seminar, the focus is to acquire a strong foundation in incorporating market development tools.  This is especially true for innovations that are disruptive in nature, where there are few breakthroughs and industry adoption is extremely slow.

    • Developing target customers with little quantitative data
    • Value proposition that can succeed – compelling reason to buy
    • Whole product model – crossing the chasm to mainstream markets

Second One Day Seminar (Month 2)

Sales and Channel Development

In this seminar, after having a reasonable idea where your market positioning is, the next important phase is the development of sales capabilities and channels.

    • Recruiting partners and allies to cross the chasm and securing target markets
    • Defining market positioning and preparing marketing communications
    • Launching your product to the market – sales and distribution strategy

Third One Day Seminar (Month 3)

Commercialization – The Execution

In this seminar, the focus is the execution of your commercialisation phase, how to sell, whom to sell to, when to sell and the issues surrounding delivery, account management, channel management and overall execution.

    • Focus on how customers make decisions in areas where there is no purchasing function
    • Understanding the sales process – situation>problem>implication>need>benefit
    • Understanding the delivery process – account & channel management, and further value capture

Duration and Interaction

The duration of the entire course is twelve (12) months.  In the first three (3) months, there will be a one-day workshop held each month as described above, and you are expected to fine tune and incorporate the tools learned.  Depending on your venture characteristics, two appropriate coaches would be assigned to you, to assist you in your overall execution strategy.

There should be at least one (1) face-to-face meeting with your two coaches every month to monitor your progress.  Alternatively, a conference call is sufficient and the meetings are to be submitted into the CGP console for review by the stakeholders of the programme.

There will be a concerted effort to align companies and coaches that have the right balance of innovation, business need and symmetry.

Stages of Growth

In essence, for the CGP, the Axile programme covers both pre-seed and growth stage companies.  Our philosophy is to augment entrepreneurs that have strong technology capabilities and are prepared to work closely with us to translate their intellectual capital and property into valuable products and ventures.

Where we are most effective is at strategic inflection points, where a company is about to transform itself exponentially.  These characteristics may include:

Pre-Seed – The venture have completed successful early trials and are looking at funding and professional management to successfully start early commercialisation.

Growth – The venture have demonstrated early market success with key customers on board and revenues.  The next challenge is to grow the business as a leader in at least one emerging market and application segment, and to evolve the venture into an industry mover and shaker.

SELECTION CRITERIA

At a minimum, applicants should have the following:

    • Intellectual Property or the ability to generate intellectual property through leadership and management skill
    • A clear market focus and at least a marketing plan in the form of a high quality document such as a business plan
    • Detailed financials of at least the basic operations in product development
    • Management team that cover at least technology management and business operations

Another very important selection criteria for us is that the applicant has a healthy ego, one that would challenge us as well.  But the applicants in the team must also be prepared to analyse gaps and internal challenges, and most importantly work towards overcoming those gaps through fund raising, incorporating new management, business development and human capital development.
